I Ain't Scared to Say It!

One is only rarely called 'hot' by strangers... these are stranger I know I will like!

I Ain't Scared to Say It!: "And with that, I immediately make puddles all over the shop floor as I whip my wet head around to reveal the sink full of the same hair that once topped my head. As a reflex, my hand reaches for my head as if to catch my eyes in a lie. Instead, I feel gaps where the hair used to be. This heifer had washed my hair down the sink along with the perm!"

It's that kind of horror story that gives lads with long hair nightmares! But that aside the liturary skills of this bloggist are red hot and this means that we have a blog that is a joy to read.

In fact my comment about the nature of the verbage on the site was all I left on my first visit and so it was a little of a supprise to find a thankyou same time later when I "remembered" to log into Yahoo.

It is supprising how random acts of kindness and the occasional expression of apriciation can lead to all sorts of things. Things like interesting chats with strangers, being called hot looking and being compaired to quaility photographers.

All in all I have to say that there is no doubt which section of links this blog belongs.

iaintscaredtosayit.blogspot.com is a great read

Bloglinker.com is cool but has issues

How to stop scummy spammers in blogs Many of us love Bloglinker.com but unfortunatly it has been attacked by scummy spammers. This academic beautiful talk aims to show you how to bring the efforts of the evil to nothing!

Here is the scoopOne of the best tools in bloglinker is the ability to specify a category for each link. Be sure to use only lower (or upper) case and think of about two or three. Then add each category (seperatly like this blog if you link).

Now the Scuz links don't auto add... or rather they do but they don't show up untill you give them a category. This puts you in control. This wont stop people abusing this brilliant site but it will stop them hurting you and taking advantage. Furthermore you can set sites that are added to be automaticly hidden and thus not show up even when visitors click "view all my links".

Now I'd love for Max at bloglinker to be able to have time to add a rating system that could vote the nasty sites out of existance, my a topsites system too? (If he does want to add a topsites into the bloglinker copy n paste code then there is some free PHP code to be found if you vote for me at Mad-Den Top sites [link below].)

So that's how to fustrate the evil peep's. That'll teach the scummy sleazers!

How to Stop Worrying and Learn to Love the Internet

hello mum!

"Because the Internet is so new we still don’t really understand what it is. We mistake it for a type of publishing or broadcasting, because that’s what we’re used to. So people complain that there’s a lot of rubbish online, or that it’s dominated by Americans, or that you can’t necessarily trust what you read on the web. Imagine trying to apply any of those criticisms to what you hear on the telephone. Of course you can’t ‘trust’ what people tell you on the web anymore than you can ‘trust’ what people tell you on megaphones, postcards or in restaurants. Working out the social politics of who you can trust and why, is, quite literally, what a very large part of our brain has evolved to do. For some batty reason we turn off this natural scepticism when we see things in any medium which require a lot of work or resources to work in, or in which we can’t easily answer back – like newspapers, television or granite. Hence ‘carved in stone.’ What should concern us is not that we can’t take what we read on the internet on trust – of course you can’t, it’s just people talking – but that we ever got into the dangerous habit of believing what we read in the newspapers or saw on the TV – a mistake that no one who has met an actual journalist would ever make. One of the most important things you learn from the internet is that there is no ‘them’ out there. It’s just an awful lot of ‘us’."

  Shut Up Ed

Party time

Shut Up Ed: "I don't know how to act when accepting gifts. If a gift is crappy, I still feel like I have to pretend that I like it. Everyone has this problem at least once in their life. My real problem is when a gift isn't crappy I still don't know how to act. I don't want to kiss anyone's ass, no matter what they give me."
Poor ol' "shutuped" what a possition to be in. I would have commented on his blog directly but Blogger seems to have an issue with that. (Maybe it needs more cookies).

My advice would be to say thankyou in an even tone, that says: "I am please that I matter that much to you"; and then place the gift to one side with the others. I go so far as to have a few well wrapped boxes so that the first gift giver doesn't feel bad.

I often say that I'll open all these tomorrow when I can "appreciate them all properly". This gets me out of being thankfull for sixteen pairs of socks and a funny tie.

Time for a pint?I hate too much fuss but I do like a little so I tend to arange my own "parties". These often consist of gathering at a randomly selected bup somewhere in the UK (London if I can, kent otherwise) and haveing some bevvies with those mates I truely like.

This has the advantage of side-stepping the embarissing bits, and is turned about as most people will just default to getting you a pint and do not feel obliged to get me well presented socks.

furthermore, I get to set the tone of the event and to some extent this provides a social power. This power is that I get to pick who has made the grade and is now elivated to the dizzy hights of true friend and who has fallen from grace.

This all sounds fairly power hungry but in actual fact it is not as well defined as that. However, birthdays are about me in a good way these days. Haveing taken tham back under my control and being a little pro-active I feel I get a lot more out of them.

Of course, haveing a massive "blow-out" some years is good too!

  No Spam Thankyou Ma'am

I hate spam.

Under no circumstances will I ever purchase anything offered to me as the result of an unsolicited e-mail message. Nor will I forward chain letters, petitions, mass mailings, or virus warnings to large numbers of others. This is my contribution to the survival of the online community.

  and so we begin...

Hmmm...with a little look around at the world of blogging as I have seen it. What do we have exactly but a handfull of repetitive and not too interesting blogs on a bunch of country-centric subjects? Granted there are the blog topsite sites and soforth but in actual fact what else is there? I have found it compleatly impossible to find an interesting road in to the world of blogging where I have anything in common with other bloggers.

It's not been a total wash-out however - I have encountered some interesting characters and seen some novel ideas, sites and causes. With the technology I feel that I have in fact tapped into a small thread of the future as it becomes. But of the community - what there? I must understand what drives me and I must understand what I am driven to.

If that makes sense to you then you have now been introduced to the Beautiful Talker.

  He Talked a Beautiful Talk...

Cultural post...and with that he opened a new blog.
I have gotten so tired of blogs that moan all the time.

Surely the skill must be to not moan and still be interesting? That is my aim here.

Inner Beauty Not Outer

The Beautiful Talker does not care for the outer appearance of the blogger. He does not care for the gender of the blogger.

The Beautiful talker feels that to distinguish bloggers for gender, shape, size, colour, hair, religion or for any other reason that is not the content they produce is wrong.

The Beautiful Talker does not like the fact that bloggers should be advantaged or disadvantage based just on gender. It is not moral or good to promote a link because the writer of the blog is a man or a woman (depends on bias).

The Beautiful Talker now aims to ensure that blogs that use discrimination will not get a link from this blog.
